A Total Car Parks team member recently gave an inspirational speech [on Friday 31st August] at the Ricoh Dragon Boat Race in Windsor to raise money for the Princes Trust.
Ryan Taylor, the firm’s Head of New Business and Development and Princes Trust Young Ambassador, spoke about how the charity changed his life by introducing him to the car park company during his participation of the Princes Trust Team Programme.
Mr Taylor, 26 from Ipswich, said: “The Dragon Boat Race was a fantastic, fun-filled event, with multiple teams made up from the staff at Ricoh, and a number of their suppliers and clients, and it was a great opportunity to talk about how the Princes’ Trust helped me get back into the working world.
“Without the Princes Trust I would have not have been capable of creating the level of opportunities for myself that I have done in the last five years and I certainly wouldn’t be sharing my story at events like this.
“Total Car Parks’ Managing Director Essy Eslamian is a huge supporter of the Trust and clearly cares about the youth of our country, I owe him tremendously for the progress of my professional development during my time with Total Car Parks and I look forward to repaying him for his guidance though the results of my work”
Mr Taylor was introduced to Mr Eslamian five years ago, who spotted his potential. Ryan’s talent shone through and he worked his way quickly through the ranks progressing from Junior Administrator to Head of New Business and Development.
Teams of ten in 30ft boats took part in the event, which was part of the Princes’ Trust ‘Million Makers Corporate Challenge’. This sees corporate teams from across the UK competing to raise at least £10,000 or more over a six-month period.

Nationwide car park operator Total Car Parks presented the 'Role Model of the Season' award at the prestigious NEBA Academy Ceremony in Leicester on Friday [13th July 2018].
Total Car Parks was a leading sponsor of the event, which recognised the achievement of NEBA Academy's members, coaches and volunteers who have made a positive impact on the lives of young people.
The ‘Role Model’ award had two categories: ‘Young Role Model’, won by Zain Matin, with Esa Khan and Shayan Raja scooping runner up prize, and ‘Role Model’, won jointly by Irtaza Ummad and Mustafa Ali.
Essy Eslamian, Total Car Parks' Managing Director, said: "We were thrilled to play a part in the event.
“Having reached our landmark year – the tenth anniversary of Total Car Parks – it was fitting for us to celebrate this achievement by sponsoring the 'Role Model of the Season Awards’ – and we were really proud of all the winners and runners up on the night.”
Representatives from four Total Car Parks departments attended the evening ceremony, which took place in the City of Leicester College. Other awards issued on the night included 'Player of the Season', 'Coach of the Season' and a new category ‘Sleepers Ambition Award’, which is a new company founded by Efaz.
Efaz M Ahmed, who founded NEBA, which was originally called 'New Era FC', was delighted the event received the backing of Total Car Parks.
“I believe that everything happens for a reason and I'm over the moon that Total Car Parks agreed to be the official partner company of the NEBA Awards," he said.
"Essy is a genuine person and we clicked straight away when we first met. Essy's ethos around charity and community work is inspiring and it's refreshing to see that someone of his status can support us. We work really hard every single day and one night really marks the achievements of everyone involved. It really humbles me that Total Car Parks could play such a big role at our awards ceremony."
In addition to football, NEBA also offers a one-to-one mentoring service and home visits to allow young people and their parents to seek professional advice and support with school work and personal issues, among others.
